Georgetown Substance Addiction Prevention Partnership (GSAPP)

If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol and/or substance misuse, call the Pettengill House at (978) 462-8801.

Prescription and opioid drug misuse is a public health crisis which has caused record numbers of overdose deaths and contributed to increases in related crime. There are many resources available, but understanding how to access these services can be difficult. With the recognition that addiction is not a crime, and with strong community support, the Georgetown Police Department will address the needs of any person who requests help for a substance use disorder. By encouraging individuals to seek help from law enforcement without fear of being arrested and prosecuted, the Georgetown Police Department hopes to improve the quality of life of program participants and their families while also preventing future crimes and overdose deaths associated with substance misuse.

The Outreach/Prevention Program is a positive relationship between law enforcement, the Pettengill House, Inc., and those struggling with opioid and other substance and alcohol use disorders. This partnership was formed with the goal of prevention, assisting struggling individuals and their families with family stabilization and family support, preventing further substance misuse, aiding in the receipt of treatment, and providing follow-up outreach services.
