Honor Guard

The Georgetown Police Department’s Honor Guard Unit is a ceremonial unit dedicated to representing the department with pride, professionalism, and reverence. The Honor Guard’s primary role is to participate in public ceremonies and special events, including memorial services, parades, and other community functions. Their presence symbolizes the department’s commitment to public service and the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers.

Members of the Honor Guard are selected for their exceptional discipline, physical fitness, and attention to detail. They undergo specialized training to perform their duties with precision, whether it’s presenting and retiring the flag, conducting funeral honors for fallen officers, or standing watch during significant events. The Honor Guard is often called upon for the dignified representation of the department at the funerals of officers or first responders, ensuring that their service and sacrifice are honored appropriately.
