Medication Disposal

This program offers residents a safe way to dispose of addictive medications. According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, in 2019 alone an estimated 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives.

If you or someone you know is struggling with misuse don’t hesitate to reach out for help.

Prescription Drug Collection Bin Available for Use

The drug collection box is located in the Georgetown Police Station lobby, 47 Central St.

Those wishing to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications may do so anonymously, by simply putting the medications into the bin. You don’t need to speak with an officer or dispatcher; we’re grateful you’ve chosen to responsibly dispose of unused medications.
