All requests for police records are handled by our Records Access Officer (RAO), Lieutenant Scott Hatch. To make a request, please complete the form below or access the PDF version here and send to Lt. Hatch at shatch@georgetownma.gov.
Please note the following:
- The RAO’s normal office hours are Monday – Friday, 7am – 3pm.
- By law, the RAO has up to ten (10) business days to respond to all requests for reports, from the date the RAO recieves the request. Ensure that you provide a valid phone number or e-mail address so that the RAO may get in touch with you.
- There is mention of fees on the Request Form. Please note: we generally do not charge a fee for records requests. If a fee is warranted (e.g. significant volume of requests), the RAO will advise you of this prior to completing the request.
- If you are requesting a copy of an Accident Report, you must submit your Operator Crash Report before our report is made available. Click here to access the Operator Crash Report.
- There are instances where reports may not be made publicly available (e.g. those involving ongoing criminal cases, domestic cases, juvenile cases, etc). The RAO will, however, provide you with an explanation as to why a report may not be released at the time of your request.
