Medication Disposal

This program offers residents a safe way to dispose of addictive mediations. According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, in 2019 alone an estimated 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives.

Prescription Drug Collection Bin Available for Use

Those wishing to get rid of unused or expired prescription medications may do so anonymously, by simply putting the medications into the bin. You don’t need to speak with an officer or dispatcher; we’re grateful you’ve chosen to responsibly dispose of unused medications.

  • Prescriptions (including patches, medications, and ointments)
  • Over the Counter medications
  • Vitamins
  • Samples
  • Medications for Pets

Medications NOT Accepted in this Collection Unit:

  • Aerosol Cans
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Inhalers
  • Medication from Businesses or Clinics
  • Needles (Sharps)
  • Ointments, Lotions, or Liquids
  • Thermometers
