Georgetown Police Department Hiring School Crossing Guard

The Georgetown Police Department is seeking a dedicated and community-minded individual to serve as a part-time School Crossing Guard for the upcoming school year.

The chosen candidate will play an important role in helping students, families, and pedestrians safely travel to and from school while providing a friendly and visible presence in the community.

The position is expected to begin on Sept. 2, 2026, and pays $18.00 per hour. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on school days. Hours may be adjusted based on the school’s schedule.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old, provide proof of U.S. citizenship, have no felony convictions, successfully complete a background check and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Safely assist students and pedestrians across designated crosswalks.
  • Monitor traffic and ensure vehicles have stopped before pedestrians enter the roadway.
  • Provide a courteous and professional presence while interacting with students, families and pedestrians.
  • Report any safety concerns, hazards or incidents to supervisors.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, with the hiring process anticipated to begin on July 25.
